Bio/Description

Pierre Bachas was Postdoctoral Researcher at the Economics Department and the Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy and Finance at Princeton University. He received his PhD in Economics from UC Berkeley in 2016 and he joined the World Bank Development Research Group (DECRG) as a Research Economist in the Summer of 2017. 

Pierre's research focuses on Public Finance and Development Economics. He is particularly interested in the challenges to tax collection and optimal tax design faced by low and middle income countries as a result of tax evasion, informality and differences in economic structure.
