Bio/Description

Philip Bennett is currently engaged in a portfolio of activities in the area of international development and finance. He is a Board Director at Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings and Convergence and a Senior Advisor to Ripplewood and Endeavor Global. He retired in 2018 from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) where he was the First Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer in charge of the Banking and Policy Departments and all investment (€10B per year) and portfolio (€45B) decisions for the EBRD’s 38 Countries of Operation. He was a permanent management member of the EBRD’s Board of Directors and member of the Executive Committee. He has more than 40 years of experience in the global financial markets, including 30 years with Citigroup and its predecessor company, Salomon Brothers. A graduate of the University of North Carolina, he holds an MPA from Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
