Bio/Description

Mr. Genender is currently a Managing Partner at Bristol Growth Capital, LLC, a growth and early stage investor in the consumer/retail and media and technology sectors.  Mr. Genender previously served as a Senior Managing Director at Eldridge Industries where he was responsible for originating and executing both minority and control investments in operating companies in established, early stage and growth equity investments in the consumer/retail, restaurant/hospitality, media and entertainment and real estate sectors.  He serves on a number of Boards of his portfolio investments. He previously served in the same role at the predecessor entity to Eldridge Industries, Guggenheim Partners.

He was previously a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Red Mountain Capital, a private investment fund based in Los Angeles where he invested in a portfolio of public company investments and sat on 2 public company Boards. 

Mr. Genender co-founded Star Avenue Capital (a consumer growth equity vehicle) in partnership with Irving Place Capital and Creative Artists Agency and led the fund’s control growth investment in J Brand Holdings.

Prior to Star Avenue, he was a Managing Director/Partner at Fenway Partners, a middle market buyout firm with over $2 billion under management, based in New York and then in Los Angeles.  Prior to Fenway, Mr. Genender spent six years in operating roles at Nabisco International and the Frito-Lay division of PepsiCo.  Prior to PepsiCo, he was a member of the mergers and acquisitions department at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York and London. 

He received his A.B. cum laude from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University in 1987, and received his M.B.A. with Distinction from INSEAD in 1991.

He currently serves as President of the Western Region for the American Friends of Hebrew University and is actively involved in other non-profit organizations.
