Bio/Description

Laura received her bachelor’s from Vanderbilt University where she majored in public policy and minored in economics. She launched her career in the private sector, first as a strategy consultant at Deloitte and then as a process adviser at CVS Health, seeking analytical skills and organizational strategies she could translate to a long-term career in public service. She comes to SPIA after three years working at A Better Chicago, a nonprofit venture philanthropy focused on dramatically expanding opportunity for Black and Latinx youth. There, she led the organization’s data and evaluation related efforts across due diligence, grantee support, and thought-leadership. Laura is passionate about racial equity and economic mobility. Upon completing her MPA, she plans to work in municipal urban development and is eager to explore the potential of public-private-philanthropic partnerships in reversing systemic disinvestment. Originally from just outside of Philadelphia, Laura is looking forward to a return to milder winters, spending more time with her mom in the kitchen, The Broad Street Run, and Eagles games.
