Bio/Description

Cherrita is a native of Dover, Delaware. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree in economics from George Mason University, Cherrita worked as a senior consultant within the Government and Public Sector (GPS) practice of Ernst & Young, LLP, where she supported strategy optimization and operational transformation projects within many federal agencies in the civilian, international development, and national security sectors. During this time, Cherrita also attended the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University and obtained her M.A. in international commerce during the Spring of 2019. At EY, Cherrita served on the Greater Washington Corporate Social Responsibility committee, where she led nonprofit outreach and logistics coordination for 45 nonprofit organizations as the 2019 Chair for their annual day of service “EY Connect Day.” Cherrita has previously held positions within the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, The White House and the U.S. Senate. At SPIA, she will concentrate within Field IV – Economics and Public Policy – where she hopes to focus on both labor and environmental economics.
