Bio/Description

Baky is a career diplomat of Bangladesh with expertise in multilateral diplomacy. Prior to SPIA, he worked in Geneva, Beirut and Dhaka. In the Foreign Office in Dhaka, he worked at multilateral divisions, where he dealt with, among others, sustainable development, international trade, global financial mechanisms, including ODA, loans, climate finance and humanitarian funding. While working in Rohingya refugee camps, he positively influenced many decisions of his government to better the Rohingyas’ lives and livelihoods. He dedicated himself to transforming and improving humanitarian assistance delivery through effective coordination and simplification of processes. He is an advocate of justice and accountability for the Rohingya. In Geneva, he facilitated several negotiations on human rights and humanitarian issues, particularly in human rights and climate change and the human rights of Rohingyas.
