The Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy & Finance joins the rest of the Princeton community in congratulating Angus Deaton, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Professor of International Affairs and a professor of economics and international affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School, who was yesterday morning notified that he had been awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in economics.
In their announcement of the award, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences noted his exceptional contributions to understanding “consumption, poverty and welfare.” (Read the complete press release from the Princeton University Office of Communications.)
Last February, at the third annual JRCPPF conference, Deaton chaired a session on consumption and credit.
