Event Description

Join us on Thursday, October 27, 2022, for a book talk: A Monetary and Fiscal History of the United States, 1961–2021, by Alan Blinder. This lively book traces 60 years of macroeconomic policy in the United States, from John F. Kennedy to Joe Biden, from William McChesney Martin to Jerome Powell. At times, the two branches of policy cooperated, and at other times they clashed. Putting it all together makes a fascinating story of progress interrupted by regress—one that has not been told before.

Alan Blinder

Alan Blinder is the Gordon S. Rentschler Memorial Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at Princeton University, former vice-chair of the Federal Reserve Board, and former member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers.
